My Heart

Here's the offending organ. It was a very minor heart attack involving a small blood vessel. Everything else looks pretty good. I hope to be mountain biking again in a few weeks.

Sorry for not blogging....

I'm in the hospital. I had a weird episode with my heart yesterday. I went mountain biking on Saturday and I felt perfectly fine... and I feel perfectly fine today as I sit being bored in the hospital. The docs are going to look at my heart tomorrow and see if they can see anything. I thought about trying to photo-blog from the hospital but so far that's not going well. I hope to be back at work soon.

Biking, Little Creek Park

I went mountain biking in Little Creek Park this morning. The weather was incredible. Most people around here go biking in Kanawha State Forest but lately I prefer the newer trails in LCP.

The little mushroom is quite small... perhaps the size of a dime. It was growing on a log next to the car. I guessed that it might make a better photo from below. I didn't really know until I got home and looked at it on the computer.

This rhododendron was very confusing to me. How could these holes appear like this? I finally realized that a bug had eaten through the three leaves when it was still closed.

Kentucky Sunrise

There's something you don't see every day...

... a Delorean. When I commented on it to the owner she said "Oh that? We've got two".

Interesting things...

... that I saw in Huntington on Wednesday.

A cowboy and his dog...

... a suspension bridge in the woods...

... a raptor flying high...

I looked this up and I think it's a "Broadwinged Hawk" which I don't recall seeing before. Can someone confirm this?

Charleston tulips, not for long.

We should enjoy them now, they won't be here much longer. These are the ones on Court Street next to the Town Center Mall.

Farm on Fisher Ridge

I was working on location at a farm this morning.

"Are you going to give me another fig newton or not? I don't have all day."

The donkey likes his nose scratched.

Are these wild turkeys or domesticated?? I thought that wild turkeys were supposed to be famously reclusive?

Why in the world are goat's eyes so weird looking? Do any other animals have slot pupils?

"Who cares what you think about my eyes?"

Holy crap, that thing actually interferes with his walking.

Come in out of the rain little puppy. We won't bite.

The Red Camera Is Black

If you know anything about film and video, you've at least heard about the Red Digital Cinema Camera with its breathtakingly high resolution. I was working alongside one today and I have to say the images coming out of that thing are astonishing. As you can see, the Red camera is black.
